Think about it, we will have less long journeys and therefore, more away fans, certainly more local derbies.

Jeff although loved by many!! his leaving will certainly be welcomed by a number on the Island.

I am willing to bet anyone next years crowds will be as big as last years.

Anyone fancy £100 straight??

Of course the crowds will come back.

Although they might moan a lot, I reckon quite a few "old geezers" will return having to only pay 4 quid rather than 8.50 next season.

Hopefully, by also only having to only pay 4 quid, more Students, preferrably those around my age will turn up too.

Excellent that U12s are only a pound though, I think if I remember rightly I was almost 10 when I saw my first Canvey game - A very good age to get interested in your local team!

AFC Wimbledon will bring a shed load down, 'Ricay and Chelmsford have derby written all over them. Heybridge if they're doing well will bring a few too.

Boreham, Carshalton, Folkestone, Hampton, Margate, Slough and Tonbridge should certainly bring at least a coach each.

The same? Those are big clubs and are a long way away. Next year we'll be playing small local clubs. I think it balances out. Or should do.

Take the bet then!!!!

From what I remember chaps is that Heybridge hardly brought any fans for their game against us last year. AFC however will bring huge support to away games, depending on wether there they can get there, transport has to be good, trains are a favourite.

you're always more than welcome back at Park Lane anytime. That goes for any other players reading this as well.

Matt I think at least half a dozen of our players will be returning back to the Lane next season - in a Claret shirt!

I hope I get to go to Wimbledon. It'll be nice watching a game with 3k in the stands.

thats a pretty sad quote from a club which have been in the conference for the last 2 years, shows how small time you really are!!

That's a pretty low thing to say. We wouldn't get 3k at home, just as you wouldn't. I only managed to get to four away games last year and none of those topped 2k.

Yes we're a small club, but let's not forget that you're smaller, so let's not start throwing that around, eh?

I hope to get to a lot more away games this year as well as a similar amount of home games. If we get 3k at home at any point next season I'll be shocked. I'd be surprised if we got over 1.5k.

I think John was elected manager by the supporters and he agreed not to take a wage before we knew how things were going to work out.

He stepped up to the mark when we were desperate to steady a ship.

And that should not be forgotten.

Now the club is looking to be financially sound, I think it would be wrong that John did not take a wage, I will certainly be saying that at the meeting on Thursday.

Agree - John should receive a wage but perhaps payement could be more heavily linked to performance or final end of season position bonuses.

I think Johns biggest challenge will be to turn youngsters into footballers, how many candidates can you see to help with that???

Again - I agree. It's going to be a tough season for a lot of the youngsters and I hope their enthusiasm and determination drives them on to a very rewarding season. I also think we can do our bit for the lads by backing them 100% and getting behind them. Also agree we need a touch of experience in the squad - a player/coach would be good and hopefully someone else who is committed to the club. We'd still need to meet wage demands to bring experienced players in anyway - so why not someone like Greggors (spelt right?)- he fits the profile perfectly.

Greggs knew what I meant!

Seriously, there will be a few former players coming up against us next season. How anyone should have to audacity to even think about booing them is beyond belief.

Easy tiger! - whose mentioned anything about booing them?

Or is this one of those student projects - your setting up subliminal messages and playing on the minds of easily lead and less intellectual supporters like myself??

From what i hear Gary Britnell will be John Batch`s assistant, don`t know if he plans on playing as well. If someone like Neil Gregory is willing to stay then i hope we can do all we can to find a way of keeping them.

We took minimum of 60-70 everywhere (took 200 to AFC Wimbledon) although we were having a pretty dire season - after two successive relegations we managed to flirt with relegation again last season and only saved ourselves with a five game unbeaten run at the end. If we are doing well I dont see why we wont bring 100. We have been known to take 300 to Burton before when we won the Southern League so if its at the end of the season it could be quite a turnout if we are up there. Lets hope so
