Ryman North it is!!!

Yes just checked the Official site, what happened from Dennis RUGGs entry announcing that we would be playing Ryman Premier football next season and giving the admission prices, to his latest announcement that we could not afford to compete at that level. Will someone out there please be truthful as to what is going on, even hardened supporters are completely peeded off by what has gone on behind the scenes. And £8 will not attract any new supporters by the way, fiver tops but obviously someone knows best.

I`m all for openess but i want the people who are running the club to be given a chance to do that without having their decisions questioned all the time.

P.S. I don`t think Hornchurch is a good example to give at the moment <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/argue.gif" alt="" /> It seems some of their supporters have upset the apple cart.

I agree 100% with the first part as for the second part I did not know they sold apples at Hx.

Seriously though I agree with both your points, but lessons are there to be learned from our previous position and you can see how many posts are being generated here, people want information.

I think that would certainly send us in the red. Hornchurch are probably the next best thing to compare to our potential crowds to and they're charging 6 quid.

I thought for this level 7 quid would not be unreasonable. 8 is slightly pushing it for newbies. But if 8 pays for what's on the pitch and what is on the pitch is doing the business, then more people might just pay the 8 after all.

I will pay what ever it is but Hx is

"Season Tickets Adult £105 Concessions £50

We have decided the gate prices for next season Adult = £6.00 and Concessions and Children 11 - 16 £3.00.

Turnstile costs for the season would be adult £126 and concessions £63

All 10 years and under will be Free of charge.

Tickets go on sale from Friday onwards

Season Tickets will include home County League Cup Games".

Thats £45 less than us, how will we drag people from Basildon and such places.

I havn`t a clue how things work at Hornchurch but if the money from the resturant goes back into the club that must be a great help to them.

If paying £8 is what keeps the club going then that`s what we will have to pay otherwise the bucket collections will be back and it will cost more in the long run.

Even before they reformed I think Hornchurch were still charging 6.50 for Conference South football which is how the majority of their fan base grew. This got bigger with a good FA Cup run and an attractive style of play.

When they reformed, yes their average attendance dropped quite significantly, but also the core stuck with them and their gates allowed their fans to just see them win a treble! Next season, that should sound all too familiar, (ok maybe not the treble bit, but you get the gest!)

Thomarocky get yourself to the meeting Thursday and ask the questions, there`s no one here who can give you answers.

And who is to say the club wont announce next week that its been decided we can now only afford to compete in the ESL, I thought the Circus went To Waterside, maybe Kingy will try and raise revenue by hiring out PARK Lane to Billy Smart !!

And this from a man who said in an earlier post "I`m not being negative". <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I remember us playing in the ICIS Division 2 which is the equivilent of the division we're in now and i'm sure we got 300 plus then because we were winning the league and had played Brighton recently.

The situation is only slightly different now. We still have a lot of hardcore fans (150) and people will come over if we are winning and will come over because of our recent success and status and by looking at the clubs in our new league, i think we are definately in with a shout of promotion and definately a top 5 finish. So you can maybe add another hundred (250) and then you'll get about 50 away supporters (300). Definately if we are playing Great Wakering, Hornchurch, Enfield Town, Aveley, Harlow Town, Ilford, Redbridge or Tilbury.

I am quite excited to be playing at this level again because i remember what it was like being a 14-16 year old and watching us play at little grounds with really good atmospheres and loving being part of something when we won leagues or cups. Especially Banstead in the Carlton Trophy final at Aveley when we were cheering so hard, we broke the stand or winning the league at Tilbury on the last day of the season.

Trust me new boys on the Canvey scene. It will be different but it will also be an experience and be really fun as well if things go right for us. So stick with this and lets do it all over again!

I must admit initially I was fine with visiting the likes of Tilbury but my heart did sink quite a bit after our flirt with the Ryman Premier.

A lot of half hearted supporters will not want to watch the likes of Tilbury at Park Lane - especially in the cold wet winter months.

We will keep a hard core of fans but I'm sure it would have been far greater if we had played in the RP. There definitely would have been some far greater crowds and away support at the Lane - whether we would survive financially - well it's finger in the wind time.

I may have missed something in all the confusion - but are we not run by a new Limited company that Jeff is dealing with? If so I would imagine that the likes of Chris Gardner, our chairman etc. have had to give certain guarantees. If that is the case then would you bet your mortgage on the number of fans who will watch Canvey next season? or play a guessing game as to how much the club will earn or needs to earn to survive. I think if I'm honest I wouldn't want to risk it either - although I am as gutted.

I think the admission price is possibly to high and may put some people off watching this level of football. However, if we have nothing in the bank I would imagine those currently looking after the clubs interest then they would be looking at getting some hard earned cash into the clubs coffers.

I'm not sure about all these conspiracty theories but I'm sure they will all come out in the wash eventually and we'll get down to playing football again. Whilst were on conspiracy theories I heard a rumour that Jeff King was an alien and Elvis will be running the bar next season <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

I think a lot of us are referring to the RPL like it's the same league that we got promoted out of in 2004. It's not. Since then they've created the Conference South, which is more or less the division we came from. Dropping to the RLN is like dropping TWO divisions below the old RPL.

Also, we're now only one division above the ESL...

It was the other way round for me. I was surprised to be put in the Ryman Premier at first and not Div 1 North.

Every other club has either relegated themselves instead of the actual relegated clubs of their league to take their place in the division below or they have had to do start at the bottom of a certain organisation, i.e, Ryman, Unibond etc in respect of other teams positions in such leagues.

So when we got put in the Ryman Premier, i thought it might be a typo. The only surprise to me now is that we were dropped again only a few days later. The fact that we are in the Ryman Div 1 North hasn't surprised me at all.

i think that you should have stayed in the ryman premier league i think you might start off bad financilly but later on will do well as you will get the fans you had in the conference & lots of away fans for the likes of chelmsford, ricay & AFC Wimbledon

but anyway good luck & look forward to playing you
