Nikki, Arky does nothing roughly and will glide in with style and grace, I won't tell raindrop about grace. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Southport seems to be suggesting that the board have been in discussion (about the story in the Gazette) for several months and have unilaterally decided to reject it.I sincerly hope this is not the case, and that society members were not informed or asked for their opinions as to the proposal.

IF Our board have made a dicison (on our behalf) about this proposal (if there was a proposal) then the society members as a whole should be informed of it and why the board came to their conclusion. Not just those who want to join the inner circle at the Hollybush.

Information should only be kept from society members in rare circumstances, where revealing info could hurt or hinder future plans. It seems at present, that keeping most members in the dark,is common and standard practice by the board, and only in rare circumstances do they actually reveal or realese any information to the wider membership.

maybe you would also like to be consulted about the up keep of the pitch, or re painting the dressing rooms,or clearing the rubbush following match days, or raisingf funds?
NO?
Is that because you don't turn up to help?

It is SO easy to sit on your, pc, and criticise, why not get involved?

Not this old arguement again.Supporters are only allowed an opinion IF they join in with the actual running of the club.

My paying through the gate everyweek.buying a 50/50 ticket, golden goal, programme, paying society membership...etc ,should be sufficient to allow me an opinion on my club.We as a collective, vote people onto the board, who we think are better at the job than we would be, and we appreciate the time and effort that they put in.That doesn't mean they or the club should be immune from any criticism or questioning by ordinary members.

One member one vote/Supporters run club. That in itself throws up some disadvantages.Lets try to maintain and keep all the positives that that set up should bring to the club and its fans.Openess,equality..etc.

If the board feel that information should be kept secret.I accept that totally. But every effort should be made to inform us about all other business that would not hurt the club, if it was put out to its members. It just seems at present that the situations concerning the club, are only passed down to the select inner-circle supporters, and that the ordinary rank and file fans are kept out of the loop.If thats not the case, then i apologise, but that the feeling some of us occassionally get.

Hold on a minute there matey....

It appears the people I talk to about games aren't allowed an opinion even though they are ACTUALLY there ( and they help out lots too!)

Relax LS - I am just being playful

Well who are these inner circle supporters? Back to the Holly Bush for these cloak and dagger meetings!

I did make a note at last Thursday's meet that at least 4 supporters sat away from the main bulk of Town fans and were into some heavy discussions! I think they were wondering if we had the funds to purchase A Chevchencko, whoever he is.
