Spurs are at it again - Pure Vandalism!

Recommended Posts

Interesting reading in the Gazette today. Something about Spurs possibly assisting the Council with the redevelopment of the QE2 for use by ETFC. Front page so I am not making this up.

Now where did I read something on this forum about section 106 agreements???

And then we could keep running our team with no bar takings and pay them a higher price for the honour than we pay now, seems like a win win situation for us.

No bar takings??? Pay for the hire of the ground???

Why do you think either of those two things would automatically happen?? For Spurs to comply with 106 agreement,i would suggest that our club (or the council on our behalf) are in a good position to negotiate a favourable arrangement (that idealy could well include nominal rent and the taking of our own bar receits)

Of course, this is only just conjecture and speculation at present. With a groundshare with Spurs at QE11,a long way off(if it ever happens).Let alone final details and arrangements. It is a promising step though.

No, I am just concerned about Enfield Town F.C. and the income that will be needed to take OUR club on.

LS - forgive people for being cynical. Anyone who was around at Southbury Road is bound to be that way. Trust is somthing that has to be earned and no one has earned that from an ETFC point of view.

I suspect it has more to do with that natural cynicism than the fact that it is Spurs. Speaking for myself I would, and do, carry Brunobs sentiments whoever was involved. If Tottenham, and again I repeat whoever!, are saying anything about helping ETFC it is only to further their own cause and not to do somthing out of the goodness of their hearts. I have concerns which I think are quite natural.

Why the concern about Spurs doing it for their own good. The main criteria should be,WOULD any proposal be in the interests of ETFC.Whether it would also benifit another club,is irrelivent.

If we didn't recieve bar money,we wouldn't be interested.

If running costs were much higher than Brimsdown,we wouldn't be interested.

Whats to be confused or concerned about??

Because spurs ARE only doing it for their own good not OUR club or the borough that they want to move into.

SO WHAT???

Brimsdown are only letting Town groundshare for their OWN good.We don't give a monkeys what Brimsdowns motives are, because the arrangement benifits OUR club.

The same should apply to Spurs. If they agree to build us a two million pound conference-grade ground,i don't give monkeys what their motives were in doing so.

for goodness sake, how many more times

THE CONCERNS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT BEING SPURS.

I dont give a tinkers cuss who it is!

No one is going to give us something for nothing. Why do you have such a problem with anyone voicing an opinion that is different to yours. If you bothered to read what people are saying then half the arguments wouldn't happen.

It has nothing to do wiht Spurs! People are just expressing concerns, nothing more - nothing less! THis forum is for people to discuss things on in a rational matter. Stop trying to tell people what to think! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/icon_smokin.gif" alt="" />

Jim.Please read posts more carefully.I have made NO mention in the last couple of posts about anyone being biased 'because' it is Spurs. The arguement had moved on too whether it was right to accept a proposal to benifit OUR club, if that proposal was only offered because the other party were doing it for their own interests.I suggested that our only concern should be OUR own interests, not what the other party are or are not getting out of the deal.

Spurs,Brimsdown WHOEVER.They are all in it for themselves.Any team who ever agree to allow a groundshare with another club, only do it to benifit their OWN interests.

You say that no one is going to give you something for nothing.of course not.Who ever suggested that?

If Spurs redevelop the QE11 for ETFC, they will do that for the SOLE purpose of securing planning permission on the Bulls Lane site. The plan would be mutually benificial to them, and as a consequence,ETFC as well.If we as a club don't like or agree to their proposal. We say NO.
