Recommended Posts

Every year since I was in my pristine youth they come millions of them ,Each year my good self and ones good lady poison them ,pour boiling water on them ,stamp on the little blighters ,Even hoover them up with the leaf vac ,But to no avail, back they come even more than the year before ,Just why the little blighters pick on the patio of my esteemed and renowned good self self is a mystery .what do they have against me a respected ex jornalist ? For a few days ones patio is a no go zone ,Anyone know how to rid our goodselves of the little beggars ?.

I don't know if you have Ivory brand liquid dish washing soap there, but my grandpa swears by a mixture of Ivory soap, vinegar and water. He says if you wash down the problem area with it, the ants won't come back, or fewer will. With each use, it is supposed to build up and keep them away.

Planting peppermint around the area is also supposed to help. They don't like the scent, so you could also mix peppermint oil and water in a spray bottle and spray the perimeter of the area.

How about tearing up the patio Mr penguin and laying a new one . If you get the queen you eradicate the lot.
