A point I made a long time ago. Not only should we have gone up but we had the players to win the league.

Hughes has impressed everytime he has come on. Nyman and Smith show far more passion and have changed the flow of games when they have come on. Surely we are not going to let some more great players go.

Unfortunately, I think this WILL happen by the end of September. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/boxing.gif" alt="" />
Players want to play and the reserves is no good for Deano and others that know they can "do it" at first team level.

So are we, the paying customer, suppose to sit, ( or stand ) in silence while good players ( in our view ) walk away to our competitors ? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />
Just crazy.

In truth, we cannot afford to lose any more talent. I'm sure Jim knows what he is doing but it will be a crying shame if he doesnt look after his seasoned players.

ET is looking like a completely new team now, I dont know what happened in the summer but we lost a few bloody good players.

To be fair,Jim has brought in some bloody good players as replacements (as always).

John.Patrick.Bastian.Mackey.Crace..etc,all look very good. Its how he plays them, and in what formation, that we need to worry about.

I accept Jim signed well but I really miss a couple of last seasons players; I just hope it comes good sooner rather than later.

We as a club have high expectations and Jim must always be presured by that. I wouldnt be a manager for all the tea in china (or Asda for that matter!).

Yes we do sit,or stand, whilst Jim manages the team. His record speaks for itself and, whilst many of us might disagree with many of his decisions, 4 games into the season is not the time to complain about the manager.

I am convinced that this squad is superior to last season and will challenge strongly for honours. It is silly for us as fans of a football club to take notice of the opinions of our opponents especially when those opponents have left the club and may be regretting their decision.

If Dean or Hughes want honours this year they stand a better chance of achieving that with ETFC rather than any other side that I have seen so far.

Hornchurch? They certainly struggled in the second half and what will happen later in the year.

Enfield FC? Dont make me laugh. They deserved to win on Saturday as they played with a passion that was lacking in Enfield Town however with any luck at all there should have been at least three goals in the second half and how many chances did EFC create in that period. Notwithstanding the appalling decisions of the ref before Enfield scored. To miss one penalty is bad enough but 3!

You must of had rose tinted glasses on Steph, 3 penalty decisions? leave it out, the only one that came close was when Crace went down like a seasoned european pro in the first half, mind you the ref was bloody awful, he waved away that penalty claim & gave a goalkick when it should have been a corner, he then booked Hunt for going for the ball in the goalmouth melee in the second half along with their keeper for some handbags stuff (neither warranted a booking).
However Simon Tickner got away physical assault at the end of the first half when chasing down their striker, swings & roundabouts Steph mate & I think we used up all our penalty luck last season.

Sorry LS we have played 1 game less then you and if we was to win that game we would be above you.

Because we lost twice to Boreham wood? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/affig.gif" alt="" />

WHY ?
Because we blew it at Rothwell, because we lost / drew too many HOME games, because we lost at Pots Bar, because we could not beat Aveley away......
Because it was our first season at that level.
WHY GO ON....... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />
Leave it there for christs sake, it's history. It's gone. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/boxing.gif" alt="" />
The next 38 league games THIS SEASON need to be sorted.

Come on Gazza.Purcell in the first half, and then Hammett being flattened in the second half were certain penalties.Certainly much better claims than the penalty up the other end.The Crace one was touch and go.He was pushed in the back, but went down easily.

If you think ET lost the league on those two games LS then my god you are blind!

The fact remains that had we won both games, or even won one and draw one,we would have taken the league title.(despite dropping plenty of other stupid points elswhere at places such as Potters bar and Aveley).

Chopper,i understand completely why you wern't at the Boreham wood away game. That subject has been resolved.Out of genuine interest, why didn't you play in the home fixture?
