Rhodes 226
I'm not so sure they have hit the jackpot, Oxhey will be in the spotlight like never before in what is possibly the biggest game in their history, if things aren't going well for them and they try to get the game abandoned as was the case in that infamous game with Haringey Borough last season, when 5-3 down with two minutes to play, they could be in big trouble. Krooner 671
Feck me Rhodes. They will be too busy counting the cash to worry about anything else.
Rhodes 226
Good luck to Oxhey Jets today in the FA Cup against AFC Wimbledon, it was disappointing the game wasn't included in our prediction league but they're the sort of team to pull off a surprise and I fancy them to win. The following preview of the game was in Non League yesterday: Oxhey Jets may have flown past the likes of Concord Rangers on the way to the FA Cup Second Qualifying Round but now they've got to ground one of Non League's jumbo's. The SSML side go to Kingsmeadow as massive underdogs but Wimbledon know it won't be 'plane' sailing as the Jets aim to give their high hosts some old fashioned FA Cup turbulence. Dons Manager Dave Anderson has already had his wings clipped, he has this week twice failed to lure Slough Town winger Gareth McCleary to the Club following a year of trying. 'It's Slough's perogative but we've got to keep an eye on the Cup, Saturday is very important to us, we know what a run in the competition would mean to our fans'. Oxhey got to this stage after seeing off Concord 3-0, a good win at Aveley and a 1-0 win over Ruislip Manor in the last round and Anderson is not taking his Watford based opponents lightly. 'I don't mean to reel off old cliches but this is really a Cup final for Oxhey' he said.
phoinex 5
Bad luck to Oxhey Jets today, suppose the money will come in handy.A nice club, done well in a short time.
Rhodes 226
Do we know what the crowd was, 2,500 plus will signify a nice little earner for Oxhey as I believe AFC Wimbledon charge at least a tenner to get in.
phoinex 5
Rhodes from the AFC Wimbledon website, todays attendance 1,747 not bad.
Rhodes 226
Mmm, not so sure about that, I expected well over 2,000 considering three wins (now two) will give them the all important opportunity of meeting Milton Keynes Dons and a guaranteed live tv windfall as long as they draw a league Club in the first round proper. Manorborn100 0
Had it been us instead of Oxhey i would have been happy with a gate of 1600 - 1800.

You have to remember that they are all former Football League supporters and they are used to picking and choosing their games. An FA Cup tie won't be on their season ticket and, if it's against a lower league club as it was today, a fair percentage are going to choose not to go. This inevitably leads to a lower attendance. I'm sure Oxhey will still be happy with their share of the gate, though.
Rhodes 226
As sensible and logical as ever I see Potters Bar Town and a good post however AFC Wimbledon were regularly getting over 3,000 not so long ago in the CCL, come rain or shine, against teams like Sandhurst, Ash and Greenford so where are those people now. Lato 13
Novelty factor? plus a lot of 'non-league enthusiasts' (thats groundhoppers to some!)
Horace 104
Also their gates have declined as they have climbed the leagues and started meeting more sides who didn't lose to them.
