Dagenham & Redbridge

Hempstead Gaz

Recommended Posts

7 clear days to get the squad rested and fully fit, iron out defensive lapses, and generally get a game plan in place to counter Daggers attacking potential.

This is a really important 3 pointer for us - given that Burton, Woking Weymouth Aldershot & York all appear to have tough looking games.

Having said that, there appears little to separate teams in 2nd through to 10th, such is the standard of the league this year.

Oxford look good bets for automatic promotion, even at this stage, perm any 1 from the next 9 to go up as well.

Will be good to have both Opinel and Long fully fit when the time arises.
Dagenham, however, have been full of goals this season will be a very potent threat this Saturday. But, I believe with a bit of luck we could get 3 points.

Big Crowd would be nice.

In my opinion if they are fit or not, they will not get into the side unless the team has major injuries.I believe most if not all are in the side due to there merit, also niether player i would suspect are any where near match fit.

This is a big game for the Fleet and the start of a little run which will probably tell everyone quite a bit about how the season might pan out. The team have made a great start and to go 8 unbeaten must have built confidence. Dagenham have had good home results but not been so great away, so I think the boys need to have a go and them and hopefully the result will come out right. It would be good to see a big crowd there, sadly I will be watching Charlton face Arsenal, and probably see them sink to the bottom of the league!!!!

I'm not sure how any of us can say either way on this, having not seen Long play at all for the Fleet in a competitive match, and Opinel for only about a half.

I think it is very easy to make this statement, a player may well be phyiscally fit but not match fit, as being match fit is a totaly different kettle of fish.
To slow in reading the game, and going in for tackles etc. Prob only lasting 60 mins of a game, most of it is common sense. so for them to just walk into the side full time is highly unlikely in my eyes.

But since there are no reserve matches to gain match fitness in this year you are saying that nobody who isn't currently in the starting eleven can hope to be picked. Some of the players currently sitting on the bench have hardly played more than Opinel and Long.
Also when Charlie gets injured and the goals dry up as they did last year, according to you Charlie won't get back in the side since even when recovered he won't be match fit. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
Liam might rotate the players for cup matches but I suspect that he will pick whatever he thinks is the best eleven available for every league game, if that includes players returning from injury or suspension then so what, everyone has to return at some stage otherwise Macca's deadleg has just become a carreer threatening injury.

Eleven games into the season and fitness and consistancy are key factors. Defensive laspes have to be sorted but keeping our shape and continuing to pressure teams is vital.

Those could be the words on the lips of most coaches and indeed fans going into todays games. I'm absolutely delighted to see Fleet making such a promising start and while the feel good factor is brilliant we have to acknowledge that there's still three quarters of the season to go. The above statement maybe heavily cliched but on this occasion it has total relevence.

Good luck today Fleet and may goosebumps continue!

Regards to all!

What I am saying is that anyone who had a major injury will not just walk back into the side, if the side is playing as well as it is now, I am also saying that they would be more than likely brought on with 15/20 mins to go over two or three games to get match fit rather than in the starting line up, as they do in every other side, unless every other side have it wrong of course.!!!!
