How many lottery tickets can I put you down for, Hatboy?

That brought the memories flooding back. Perhaps we could put you down to run a kit sponsorship draw?

Er, no, on second thoughts, wouldn't want to waste any more police time would we, eh?

What's the old saying - ah yes: "You've got to be behind a man before you can stab him in the back!"

One little aside from last night, at the end I went up to the bar and caught the end of a statement being made by one of the chaps at the back who had been in a group of moaners. Now I am not sure what the subject was but this guy said that the SACFC chairman would never enter into a debate with him (the speaker / fan) because he (the chairman) did not have the intellect to match his (the speaker, guy at the back with the moaners).

Now I do not know the intellectual levels of the speaker or the chairman, never had a conversation with either of them, but it struck me as a very arrogant and conceited comment. I am sure we can agree on that AFF.

One thing's for sure Harding, when the police began their enquiries and you were interviewed at the Police Station, under caution, no-one had ever seen you move so fast to confirm the order for the new shirts. Everyone fully appreciated that you had been far to busy to honour the obligation to those who took part in the draw for the preceding six weeks since the winners were announced.

You would have enjoyed the reference at the Fans Forum to the dramatic improvement in the club's reputation at the Council and throughout the City over the last five years. Your post elsewhere today regarding your relationship with the Council struck a somewhat odd note, somehow. But then, you're well known for your selective memory.

It's nice to know you're here....

the point is , and this is really the only point, you go to a football ground to watch a football game
you go to a restaurant to eat food
simple really, everything else is secondary.

Not quite right, JKif. There will always be the cloth-cap-wearing died-in-the-wool types who will quite happily stand in the pouring rain watching two teams slug it out in the mud, but today's fan is a little more discerning generally.

Look how many people attend Man U's games, how many of them are just there for the prawn sandwiches and the 'sense of occasion'? Whatever happens on the pitch is secondary but do Man U Care? I doubt it, they are making the club millions.

Today's non-league football fan also wants similar value for money; a decent game, yes, but also a clean and tidy ground and something to eat and drink in comfort. If a plate of chips is enough to tempt a father to bring his kids to a game then that is a cheap solution (how many families go on outings to Macdonald's for chrissake!) and the revenue, however small, can contribute to improving the team and the facilities.

If we're to compete with the big boys we ought to start behaving like them.

How easy it is to peel away your little untruths one by one. The mists of time cloud your memory Lewis, let me refresh.

The kit had already been ordered prior to my visit to St. Albans Police. It was a special making - if you remember I ordered that lovely sky blue & white stripe & red combo - hence the short delay.

But no matter. They were, of course, the same Police who subsequently advised that the whole investigation into the Kit Sponsorship Draw had been a complete waste (their words not mine - I don't think they were pleased!) of their time (Dad would be proud). Now I wonder who organised that Kit Sponsorship Draw (I've still got all your letters, etc.) and I also wonder who made the complaint to the police in the first instance - any ideas Lewis?

As to the Council, it's good to know that the relationship is as good as when I secured a Conference grading for the Club.

And oh yes, I'm still here, watching you as closely as ever. It's just a shame you don't seem to watch the Saints away as much as you used to - not giving up on your dream of becoming Chairman already, surely?

Oh, and before I go, if you want to have another go at telling the Braintree fans that we'll never get planning permission for our ground improvements (which we have) or that I'll bankrupt the club (we made a profit last year!), you can access our forum via www.braintreetownfc.org.uk. Do try to use your own name when leaving a missive this time!

How I've missed our little chats, merry christmas, Lewis.

I have never met anyone who doesnt go to a football ground first and foremeost for the football. No football club, the place wouldn't exist , please prove otherwise. As i say everything else is secondary. Comparing us to man united is incredibly stupid and embarassing

It seems that people on here are more concerned with off the filed activities than on the field activities.

IF you read my initial , what i thought was a light hearted ( apparently patronising) post, certain supporters are more concerned with that than Conference survival.

Something borne out by some of the most pathetic posts i have seen on a message board

Equally point me in the direction where i have said you are NOT entilted to express an opinion about these subjects or bring them up here or at a fans forum. I was there, for about 5 people it apparently is a matter of life and death, fk the team lets have chips! For the MAJORITY of us, we are more concerned with staying up! if that is to the detriment to your stomachs than I can live with that.

Please take these important issues up with Colin at the next match you decide to attend.

ps AFF, me patronising ? you taught me everything I know.

how's the takeover coming along BTW?

see you at woking, burton, stevange, rushden, morecambe etc etc

Hi guys, I was at the forum and frankly found some of the lines of questioning embarrassing. However, I must admit I have some sympathy for both points of view (although I'm pretty sure they're one and the same really), but I feel that we are missing the point somewhat.

Whether they serve Chips, Lobster Thermidor, Creme Brulee or whatever is irrelevent. The fact that what they do serve is disgusting is the real problem.

i was at the fans forum the other night and was one of the people who moan about the food.yes i go primarily to watch football same as the other clubs in our league and this is not just about us.we also have to consider what we offer our visitors after a five/six hour journey from York say.

i admit to being a football fanatic but as i also suffer from a terminal illness my health also has to come into it.im not allowed burgers/hotdogs etc but have to eat little and often...please dont say bring a picnic,im coeliac so cant eat sandwiches either.eating precooked hotdogs/burgers cant be good for any of you either.
