SML 2006/07 Players of the Season - A fans view?

Recommended Posts

Wotcha, as a fan of the SML, I wonder if we could collectively come up with a SML squad of the year. Choose a few players of either your own team or opposition sides who have impressed you and we'll see if we have some repetition amongst us.

I've been impressed with:

Danny Bennett of Biggleswade Utd - Sweeper

Wayne Gladdy of Oxhey Jets - Forward

Martin Standen of Colney Heath (now Hitchin Town) - Forward

Frankie Jowle of London Colney - Winger

To name a few and get the ball rolling.

Regards, Mr F

Any SSML rep team for this season HAS to include Richard Morton, over 30 goals from Midfield, speaks for itself

Add to that Adam Wallace and also Gavin Hart/Johnny Moore, actually just include the whole Edgware team after all we have represented the SSML better then any other club this season !

Can't really argue against Cooper and Redford.

Gavin don't be greedy though Morton is obviously a shoe-in.

I thought the Oxhey keeper is good but I forget his name while Alex Totton and Sean Sonner for Harefield are useful players.

Only Manor player who might make the cut is Chris Henry.

And only one man to manage....Clement Temile obviously!

If a representative game were ever played, Langford would (according to Neutralfan) be doing the cheeseburgers at half time!!!.

We have a couple of midfielders who are in the high twenty's for goals this season Pateman and Groves, unfortunately we don't have any strikers anywhere near that.

I would always put RobbieO in any squad, although up front can't really see past the Hertford pair of strikers, maybe Jordan of Harefield would give them a run?

Also impressed with Aitkin at BBVE and both Edgware full backs when we played them.

Mr F - Thanks for starting this thread whoever you are. Without wishing to sound biased any SSML squad of the season has to include Lee Scott in it and possibly Thomas Looney too, he scored one of the best goals I've seen in my life at Cranfield and I have been watching the beautiful game for many years. When you get the opposing players queuing up to shake his hand straight afterwards then you know you have witnessed something very special.

I might have to sign for someone and play one game to go straight into the rep side!! Just going to be tricky to find someone with big enough shorts....
