SML 2006/07 Players of the Season - A fans view?

Recommended Posts

Ive watched biggleswade united a few times this season.. They had a keeper about a month or 6 weeks back that played a few games for them.. Not sure who he was or where he came from but he was very good.. Very Tall Stocky lad.. Extremely Confident Catching Crosses and Talks to the players non stop... Seemed extremely composed and made some fine stops... Much Much better than there normal keeper.. Any ideas who this was anybody?? He should definitely be in this squad on what i saw!!

RobbieO should be able to throw some light on this. Without wishing to sound biased I strongly believe Thomas Looney should be included in the squad, he hasn't put a foot wrong all season and scored one of the best goals I've seen in over 40 years of watching the beautiful game at Cranfield United, time literally stood still for 30 seconds, a bit like when Michael Owen scored that wonder goal against Argentina.

Not sure......regular keeper is young Adam Laurence, we did have Robbie Timms from Barton but he returned following a nasty injury to Bartons former Biggs Utd Keeper Dean Bull. Cant think of any others, although i wouldnt base someone in the team of the season on a couple of games viewing!

Well that goes without saying, he's already the SSML Coach of the season anyway and has fortunately committed to our Club for 2007/2008 which is a relief, we were a little afraid that he might be poached.

I know of a number of Club's that have been sniffing around 'the great one' for a while. Incidentally BBC Talk Sport have been in touch with me wanting to do a live radio interview with him this week or next, I'll try to give you plenty of notice when it will be so you can tune your dial and listen in.

Well whichever programme it is I will alert you to when 'the great one' is on the programme so you can listen to his dulcit tones, it was originally supposed to be last Tuesday after our game at Amersham Town but the broadcast was pulled at the last minute due to a cricket item over running.

This suggests that the interview hasn't happened yet...

Can I call for a stewards enquiry, there is an equally good barmaid at Coles Park, Manic will vouch for that.
