Soler wins, giving the wildcard team a victory in the Tour de France. Winner by 38 secs.

Seven years since Santiago Botero’s landmark win in Briancon, Colombia is about to get another stage win.

Valverde 2nd

Evans 3rd

Rasmussen remains in Yellow Jersey

4 Spaniards in the top 10 at the moment...

A.Valverde (GCE) (The Green Bullet, from Murcia)

I.Mayo (SDV) Another basque cyclist, with 1 stage win behind him and was 2nd in stage 8 this year.

A.Contador (DSC) (The Accountant) born in Madrid....25th in the 2005 tour

C.Sastre (CSC)born in Madrid too..an impressive 8th in 2004 and 4th in last year's tour....

If not Rasmussen, then one of these looks likely to take the tour...all seeking to be the first "Spanish" winner since Miguel Indurain in 1995.

I used the ""'s as Indurain of course, like Mayo, is a Basque native, rather than a Spaniard....
