The club was founded in 1994 by two parents concerned with the lack of opportunity to play competitive football in the local area for young players. In 1995 the club played its first competitive match in the Camden & Islington Youth Midweek League. By 1998 the club had added two more teams and entered the Enfield & District Youth League.

In 1999 the club was joined by teams from the disbanded Ferdinand FC bringing the total amount of teams playing in the Camden & Islington Midweek League to eight and three teams in the Enfield & District Youth League.

In 2002/03 in the Camden & Islington Midweek League the U16s won the league title and the league cup and the U13’s won the league cup and finished runners up in the league. The club has always had a strong youth set up and moved to the Harrow Youth League after the demise of the Enfield League.

In 2003/04 the club then took the step from youth football into senior football joining the Spartan South Midlands League and were placed in Division Two playing their home games at King George IV playing fields in Barnet and finished a respectable10th position.

In 2004/05 the club moved to a ground share with Haringey Borough at Coles Park and after the AGM of the SSML were voted into the First Division to strengthen it along with Canfield United and Amersham Town . The team finished in ninth position and reached the last eight of the Division One Cup. For season 2005/06 the club were forced to move again and we were invited to share with newly promoted Potters Bar Town Football Club at their Parkfield home. The clubs U14’s competing in the Harrow Youth League won the league. In 2006/07 the season started with the club securing the services of Head Coach Clement Temile a former Nigerian International player. Hendon’s historic Claremont Road was now the venue for home fixtures.

At the start of the 2007/08 KTFC are in a new home at the Barnett Copthall Stadium.

At the end of the 2007/08 Kentish Town Football Club first team became league champions of the SSMFL Division One and were promoted the Premier Division of the SSMFL (Step 5).

For the season 2008/09 Town added two further youth sides that played in the Allied Counties and Southern Counties Leagues, they also linked with Camden’s biggest youth club Hampstead FC, which will provide a future involvement of players from Camden into the club.

Season 2009/10 Town have gone with Youth and New Manager Rak Hudson, will strive to continue the good work that the club has achieved so far.

2010/2011 Rak Hudson is still in charge of the first team, John Creith will be in charge of our Allied Counties side, and Ben Corbyn has moved over from Haringey FC to take charge of our Southern Counties Side. Youth will still play a big part in the future development of the club and we see it as the only way forward and we will reap the benefits in a few years.

Rak Hudson left the club in November by mutual consent to continue his football career and the Club Appointed Under 17s Manager John Creith who holds a UEFA B License to the first team job. John first act in charge was to bring back former manager Frank Zanre as his assistant.

The Townies failed to hold their place in the premiership and were relegated and the re-building work has already started and John Creith has put in place a very good group of coaches and backroom staff with the aim of making a quick return to the Prem. But only time will tell.

At the start of the 2012/13 season, KTFC find themselves at a new home at the Middlesex Stadium, Hillingdon, after being forced to leave Barnet Copthall stadium, after Saracens Rugby Club were handed the stadium for redevelopment into their new home.
