Will Tilly stay a Gull

The new Southend manager has indicated that he would like Tilly as his assistant.
We would miss him fourfold as he is still our most influential player.
I just hope Jeff screws Southend for lots of dough if they buy out his contract.
Another major worry would be if Tilly then would try and tempt Adam Miller to Southend.

Couldn't agree more. Steve Tilson has been an enormous influence at Park Lane and whenever he isn't in the team, it's a poorer team as a result. But if loads of dosh could be secured for his undoubted talent, Jeff is the man to send into the negotiations.
As for Millsy being tempted away, this lad is so good, it's bound to happen one day. Again, if there were to be serious money on the table, who would want to stand in this young man's way.
In the meantime, they will both be in the line-up for tomorrow's game against Stafford Rangers, so let the good times roll.
Merv

It has been stated in another thread that Stevenage were interested in Millsy; my personal opinion on this is that Millsy is too good to be released to a Conference outfit. Should all go well Canvey will be in the Conference next season, therefor moving to a Conference Team would not be an advantage for him at this time. I would also say that Millsy is more likely to get noticed by League teams whilst playing for Canvey, therefor his hopefull rise to a higher club would be best achieved by staying put.
