FF News Posted December 5, 2014 Share Posted December 5, 2014 Graham Wood, chairman of Conference club Gateshead, has urged supporters to play their part as they look to make history this Sunday lunchtime. The Tynesiders hoping to progress to the Third Round of the FA Cup for the first time in exactly sixty years. They host Warrington Town at the International Stadium in the Second Round of the competition – with the television cameras from BT Sport in attendance. The last time The Heed took to their own turf in front of the cameras was back on that famous day back in May, when over 8,000 supporters packed in to see Gary Mills' side reach the Conference Play-Off Final with a 3-1 victory over Grimsby Town. And Wood is hoping for a similar occasion this Sunday – underlining the importance of the tie to the club as a whole. He said: "It is always important to get a good crowd and backing for the team. But obviously, the implications of this tie are huge. "To get to the Third Round would open up some wonderful possibilities. "I would urge supporters to come along to the game to give the team as much support as possible. "The FA Cup is a wonderful occasion in itself.
