.....and on the evidence presented so far Mr Aitken has proved to be an unmitigated disaster and I do not think he can claim to have played much part in the success we have had, indeed looking at areas in the programme the player sponsorship.....

Player sponsorships for next year have smashed all known records with all but two main squad players being sponsored already. Fleet raised the cost of player sponsorship substantially last year to reflect the realistic cost of keeping a player kitted out through the season. Initial reaction was that the club had gone too far. These results prove that there is still a healthy demand.
"Last year we more than doubled the income of the 2002/3 season from this area of the Club's commercial activity" said Barry Wickenden, Marketing Executive. "This year should see us increasing that by a further 50%."
