Hutchinson Staying Put At Worcester

GRAHAM Hutchison has turned down a move to a Conference club after failing to agree personal terms.

Manager Carl Heeley has revealed that City accepted a bid for the centre-half earlier this month but declined to name the club involved.

It is understood the offer was substantial given that Hutchison is out of contract at the end of the season. However, the former Birmingham City defender has opted to stay after failing to come to an agreement with his suitors.

Hutchison, who has made 30 starts for City this season, is the latest Worcester player to attract interest following George Williams' sale to Barnsley in December.

Meanwhile, Heeley believes Aaron Brown is the perfect fit for City as they seek to climb the Conference North table.

The 31-year-old utility player returned for his second spell at the club he left at the end of last season and featured in the 2-2 draw against Hednesford on Saturday.

Heeley said: "He's not a silky footballer but he's effective, heads the ball in both penalty areas, and a great lad who gives everybody a big lift.

"That's just what we needed. He's quite infectious and at this time of year in non-league football, Aaron Brown is absolutely perfect.

"He's helped us to turn it around because when balls go into dangerous areas we start creating opportunities from them rather than a defender getting a free header."

Elsewhere, midfielder David McDermott is having a break because his job with a car dealership requires him to work on Saturdays.
