Veteran striker Deon Burton has agreed to join Vanarama Conference club Eastleigh until the end of the season following his release from Sky Bet League One side Scunthorpe United.

Burton, who has played fifty-six times for Jamaica, scoring 12 times, enjoyed five seasons in the Premier League for Derby County, making 113 appearances and scoring 20 goals.

Burton, now 38, started his career with Portsmouth and went on to have spells with Brentford, Rotherham United, Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton Athletic, Azerbaijan outfit Gabala FK and Gillingham before joining Scunthorpe in the summer of 2013.

He was loaned out to York City in October but sustained an injury on his debut which ruled him out for two months and he was released by the Iron last month.
