Law Delighted With Alfreton Attitude

Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law heralded the point his side picked up from a 2-2 draw at home to high-flying Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday night as a reward for their resilience.

It looked like the Reds were heading for a defeat when Jon Parkin put the visitors ahead with just six minutes to go.

But battling Alfreton hit back in the 94th minute through Lathaniel Rowe-Turner.

"Points from games like this are a bonus," said Law. "These are not the games that are ultimately going to keep you up, it is the points gained from the games against sides in and around you that will keep you up.

"I am disappointed to have had one goal disallowed, it looked a perfectly good goal and I think the referee has got it wrong.

"Before the game, if you had offered a point from it you would have taken it, but we did well and I think if we had lost, it would have been a travesty.

"We didn't deserve to lose, we played some good stuff.

"I was disappointed with the first goal, but after we have done well to get back in it, I am disappointed in the manner in which we have conceded the second.

"Overall though, we showed very good resilience and never gave up."

Alfreton will be aiming to keep the momentum up and finally leave the drop zone when they face a mid-table Braintree Town side.

Added Law: "

Looking ahead to a trip to Essex to face mid-table Braintree Town this Saturday, Law admitted his side are in for a difficult time.

Added Law: "You know what you are going to get with Braintree, especially at their place.

"It will definitely be tough. We have got to get the attitude and the work rate right as we have done over the last two games. If we do, we will be ok, but it will be another tough one." Central defender Callum Howe, who netted his first goal for the club in the 4-2 win over Southport last Saturday, unfortunately picked up a minor hamstring injury which kept him out of Tuesday's game and he will be out of action for up to another ten days.
