Barnet Boss Has Headache To Solve

Barnet boss Martin Allen admits Michael Gash is giving him a headache ahead of tomorrow's Conference clash at Wrexham – but in a good way.

The January transfer window signing has had to make do with three substitute appearances since joining from Kidderminster, once again coming off the bench in Saturday's win over Woking .

But while the former Cambridge United striker's work in training is worthy of a place in the starting line up, he is finding it hard to dislodge the red-hot partnership of Charlie MacDonald and John Akinde.

Allen said: "Gash is a good player and has been our best trainer since he's been here. He trains hard all the time and always stays behind for extra work. He has been better than we expected.

"However, it will be very difficult for him to dislodge Charlie MacDonald and John Akinde, who have been brilliant and helped us get 72 goals this season.

"The issue for me will be where I can squeeze him in, and it will give me plenty to think about over the coming weeks."

Barnet make the journey to North Wales still seven points clear at the top of the Conference with 12 games to go.
