Sunday service for Forest Green FA Cup clash

It has been announced that Forest Green Rovers' FA Cup second round tie against either Oxford United or Braintree Town will take place on Sunday 6 December.

Ady Pennock's charges will travel to the Kassam Stadium or Cressing Road for a game that will kick-off at 2pm.

Victory over League Two side AFC Wimbledon in the first round proper has booked Rovers a place at this stage of the competition, for the first time since the club reached the third round in the 2009-10 season.

League Two Oxford and National League Braintree meet at the Kassam on Tuesday evening to determine who will face FGR.

The two sides drew 1-1 in their first meeting last weekend. Ryan Taylor had opened the scoring for Oxford, but Kenny Davis' second half strike earned the Iron a replay.

It will be Forest Green's third game in the competition this season. A victory at Margate in the fourth qualifying round set up last week's win at Kingsmeadow.

Details of supporters coach travel and ticket prices will be announced once it has been confirmed who Rovers will face.

FGR's originally planned league fixture that weekend against Southport has now been rearranged.

That match at Haig Avenue will now take place on Tuesday 26 January 2016 with a 7.45pm kick-off.
