Boreham Wood chairman offers cut-price travel to Barrow fixture

Boreham Wood Chairman Danny Hunter is offering paying season ticket holders and supporters who regularly travel to away games on our official club minibuses, the chance to book their return train travel to Barrow for more than half price through the club and he will pick up the other half of the cost.

This offer will only be open to the first TWENTY people who fit the above criteria.

Hunter said “In truth we were, if we’re being honest, all probably hoping to be travelling to Northampton Town in the FA Cup 2nd round on December 5th. That dream though got well and truly kicked into touch when we failed to overcome Northwich last week and as such we’ve now got Barrow to look forward to”

“The fact was, our FA Cup defeat was very much deserved but it was still a real opportunity missed. That said the cup has now gone and our supporters and myself could do with an away league pick me up. Our fans have been very loyal this season, they’ve been vocal, patient with the dressing room and been great for us on our travels”..

“So I just want to show my appreciation of their efforts by putting my hand in my pocket and help them with one of their most expensive away days.. With Christmas coming up, this will hopefully help them out a little, as football at this level is certainly not cheap and Barrow is definitely a slap to get too”.

So I’m giving twenty of our supporters the chance to go first class, for less than half price by train. The service is complete I believe with waitress service, with snacks, tea, coffee, soft drinks etc and its my way of saying thank you to the faithful and asking them to stick with us in our fight to stay up”..

The Train will depart from London Euston at 09.30, with a change at Lancaster before travelling up to Barrow via Northern Rail arriving in at 13.26. The return journey will leave Barrow at 17.20, with a change at Lancaster, before arriving back into London Euston at 21.38..

The club released an explanation of the offer saying "The cost to the fans will we believe be approximately £45 per person with the Chairman picking up the shortfall of the overall cost of the first class tickets. (the exact price of a first class ticket was not available before going to print)..

Those that are eligible and would like to go you can book online by clicking here, or alternatively you can book in the club shop on Saturday against Tranmere Rovers"
