FF News
When Buxton's legendary record scorer Mark Reed netted a hat-trick against Eastwood Town in under four minutes in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, many of the Silverlands faithful must have wondered whether they'd ever see a similar feat. Reed netted three of his 251 goals for the Bucks in just three minutes 41.8 seconds on February 16 2013 and on Tuesday night supporters saw current leading scorer Liam Hardy beat that remarkable record by bagging a match-changing hat-trick either side of half-time in the 5-1 defeat of Barwell. Referee David Plowright confirmed afterwards that Hardy scored twice from close range during two minutes and 30 seconds of time added on at the end of the first half to put the Bucks 3-0 up at the break. According to Mr Plowright, his hat-trick goal, a thumping 20 yarder into the roof of the net, hit the net just 38 seconds after the restart to take his tally for the season to 19 and beat his predecessor's record by 33.8 seconds!
