Torquay United are back in home action on Saturday as we return to League business with the visit of Gateshead.

The north-east outfit make the long journey to South Devon in tenth place in the League table as we face our first home League encounter of 2016.

“We know a bit about them,” said player-manager, Kevin Nicholson. “They are a strong side at this level, but we’ve proved what we are capable of against the better sides in this League in recent weeks.

“It’s been about keeping the lads fresh and happy this week; the spirit has been fantastic and this is showing through in games.

“We need the players to remain tight-knit to make sure that they do their job in keeping the club up.

“We’re looking forward to the game and hopefully we’ll be able to build on last weekend’s victory.”

Nicholson went on to reveal that he hopes to add one more new face before the end of the month.

“We’re almost there in terms of the squad,” he said. “There’s one more space to fill, but we’re not going to jump in unless it’s exactly what we need.
