The perfect venue today as I was able to combine this with a visit to the wonderful Milton Keynes Museum who were offering free admission for Heritage Weekend and a beer festival with local ales at just £3 a pint!
So good was this event that I only arrived at Abbey Road one minute before kick off. 
A basic venue railed on three sides, but with a smart mural on the dugouts, and a decent bar that had a cask ale on, albeit London Pride.
A good first half saw the bottom of the table visitors let in three goals with some very lax defending. They did however manage a decent strike themselves and were not lacking effort.
Sadly the second half was less lively and Old Bradwell added just two more goals to the scoreline.
With the match finishing at gone 5pm a brisk walk back to Wolverton station, passing the concrete cows, ensured I caught the 1730 train with a few mins to spare in fact.

To say Letchworth are one of my local teams, I have only 'completed' half of the Spartan 1, so this was a good opportunity to tick off one more in this division. Eaton Socon is just East of the A1 in Cambridgeshire, with the original Great North Road running through it. The ground shares it's site with the Eaton Socon Bowling club, and there was a match on the outdoor bowling rink, accessed through the main clubhouse. The adjoining ample sized car park was full except for the disabled spaces when I arrived at 14:47, so I parked on the access road outside the complex. On entering closest to the near goal line, there is one covered stand - with new looking bench seats in 3 tiered rows to the right, and a covered standing area to the left of the goal which also had a couple of random wooden benches in it. Although the railing of the pitch interferes with the sight line if sat on one of these benches. Further to the left corner is the entrance to the changing rooms and a bottle bar serving hot drinks, cans and bottles, housed in a converted container. Behind the changing rooms is the main Club house. Varying metal benches are around the bar corner, that do look repurposed from a railway station.
ES were wearing their brand new (for this season) claret and sky blue strip, with LGC wearing fluorescent yellow shirts paired with dull grey shorts. LGC opened the scoring on 44 minutes. 2 minutes later a goal mouth scramble produced a second goal for LGC which was disallowed by the referee, as the linesman had appeared to flag for it, but was overruled. I didn't actually have a clear sight line of the goal (see aforementioned railing interfering with my view). ES responded barely 2 minutes later to draw level. LGC finally went ahead in the second half with about 10 minutes of the match remaining, looking to deserve the win.
