Slough ground share

There's a rumour in the land of gin and jags that Slough Town have opened discussions with Maidenhead re ground sharing. Can't get anyone to confirm it here - any word your end ? And yes our pitch is crap etc etc etc....yawn.

Can't see it happening as it's been widely stated we have the option on extending the lease at Wexham Park should we want it.

Wouldn't rule it out entirely, but would be very very surprised if it went through.

Without being 'sarcy' about it, the Magpies pitch gets bad enough with one team playing on it let alone two.

Thanks, sounds like just a rumour. We'd heard you hadn't been offered the new lease yet. Roy Merryweather has definitely been talking to the Maidenhead people a lot recently though - and I doubt if it's about Adrian Blake?

You could add Beaconsfield to that possibility. With their new club house, upgraded lighting and major pitch drainage scheme they now qualify for "B" grading and apparantly would be interested in revenue from a groundshare if they are promoted to Ryman 1 this season <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />. Rumour machine says Slough & Wokingham could be in their thoughts?

Uxbridge is not A graded, neither is Burnham, Beaconsfield or Windsor. Maidenhead's the only local ground that is. Surely if you HAVE to ground share you'd want an A grade otherwise no promotion.

I understand within league rules you cannot be promoted if you arrrange a groundsharing for that reason. Is Wexham Park A graded, if so that would be different as you are then already eligable for promotion. If not i think the wait is two years before being allowed promotion. Make sure you don't shot yourselves in the foot, take the option on Wexham Park see how the reorganisation pans out then move if you have to, the last thing you want to be is homeless it ain't fun and its hard work. good luck and keep at it.

thats the most sensible thing I've ever heard a camel say...spot on mate.....by the way...I think that you will find that Uxbridge is 'A' Graded. If you go to Windsor you get the Queen coming to watch you occassionally...you'll never get rid of Brown then...the ol' Royals have a penchant for the name....!!!
