Ok, after last night's good "ass-whippin'" at the hands of Gillingham it's time to turn our attention to Conference team Gravesend & Northfleet, who, (hopefully) won't be able to beat us by as greater margin as the Gills.

Most of those who didn't start against Gillingham are likely to play (inc. Gavin Cowan & Danny Potter) and hopefully the weather conditions will be improved from last night...

Prediction

Canvey Island 2 - 2 Gravesend & Northfleet

Scorers: Gooden & Midgley
Att. 450-ish <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Predicted Starting Line-Up

- Potter -
- Smith - Chenery - Cowan - Davidson -
- Kennedy - Minton - Parmenter - Gooden -
- N. Gregory - Boylan -

SUBS: Theobald, Duffy, Bennett, Dobinson, Protheroe, Parmenter, Berquez, Midgley & Harrison

Probably be dry, according to the forecast I've just seen.

As said in another forum, this one will be the real test, providing, of course, both teams play a strong side. So far, G&NFC have released &/or sold &/or lost 12 players & have signed 10 so that's basically half the squad replaced. Because of that, I won't even attempt to name our starting 11 as I don't know most of them are! However, the score? 2-1 to the Fleet. (kiss of death strikes again!!!)

Apparently our keeper Lee Turner has left! We've only just signed him! Never a dull moment at the Fleet.

Paul Wilkerson, 1st choice, out for 6 weeks with ligament damage. Alex O'Reilly, signed from Thurrock as cover is now no.1 and a lad from the PASE scheme (under 18's basically) is now no.2. So if Alex takes a knock we could be in a wee bit of trouble to say the least.

But then we do have Ben Abbey up front to slap every stray ball into the back of the net plus our midfield is looking very good at the moment. I'm looking forward to it. See ya there.
