I frequently check back to this page, ( seeing as it's my start page ) And happened to notice that recently, nothings been happening, none of the news is there, it took about 4 days just to put up who scored, come on webmasters, make the club proud.

Fair point Bill, we aim to please.
Under normal circumstances our website is updated within a couple of hours of the final whistle, that includes the score, full match details, a match report, updated league tables and updated statistics (and often photographs of the game). Few non-league websites can match us with the variety of news and information or the speed at which it is posted.
The problem is we spoil you lot. If, for any reason at all, the site isn't updated within 12hrs you start to complain that standards are slipping.
If only I could afford to give up the day-job and Matt could afford to fluff his GCSE's we would have a near-perfect website. This week most of the work fell to Ian but, with a business to run, he has to limit the time he spends occasionally.
The main thing about a website is to think of it as a magazine, not a newspaper. Our aim is to give the story behind the story, not the immediate facts - they are better represented (and more speedily) in the Evening Echo or Non League Paper. We give you official club news (not speculation), detailed match reports (average 1200 words), full statistics, a run-in to the end of the season, travel directions to every away game, the history of the club, etc, etc... you get my drift?
Of course if anyone wants to give us a hand, they would be very welcome. No computer skills needed, just the ability to email one of us with match details/statistics and/or reports and one of us will post the information. But think carefully! If you take it on and get bitten by the bug, it will end up costing you at least 15 hours per week, an enormous phone bill (we bear our own costs, nobody makes any money out of the site!) and an obligation to get to and report on almost every single game.
And still some b u g g e r will moan
Merv CIFC

I would, besides the fact, as many 13 year olds, when I go to watch the games, get drifted off talking to mates. ( Totally unlike the adults images/icons/wink.gif" border="0 ) I would never be able to do a match report, nor, seeing from the html on canveyfc.com, that. Even though I could SOMETIMES say who scored, sometimes not even that. By the way being online 15 hours a week, or something you say, would be easy for me, becuase I do at least 5 hours each day on the net, updating, chatting e.t.c and im soon getting adsl images/icons/grin.gif" border="0 . If you would like any help anywhere, what is capable of a 13 year old doing, i'd feel more than welcome to help. images/icons/smile.gif" border="0

Bill, when you get into upper school you'll realise that it was coursework deadline week for me, and I had to go back over every piece of work I've done over the last two years!!!
I was at Roots Hall making notes on the game and the report is now online. Merv is in Bristol this weekend visiting family so I'll be doing the report for today's game too. So please don't be surprised if there is no report on the main site by 8:00 tonight. Remember it's business before pleasure!
Just think if we go into the Conference, Merv won't be able to go to the late Tuesday night games from work, I will be studying at College and Ian can't turn away from his business. Then who will we count on?
Matt CIFC images/icons/tongue.gif" border="0

Just read the match report, nice one. I like the comment from championship manager, and it's true. Anyway, keep it up, good match report, anyway im gonna leave soon, about a 25 minute drive to get there today, and a couple of people to pick up. Come on Canvey, lets make the most of our last home game. images/icons/grin.gif" border="0
