FF News
Chester FC have announced that striker James Alabi has signed a one-year deal with the club. Alabi, 21, arrived at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium back in late January following his release from Ipswich Town. He ended the season with 6 goals in sixteen games for Chester, including a sensational four-goal haul in the 8-2 win over Aldershot Town. The Southwark-born frontman then won the goal of the season award last month, following his superb solo goal at Kidderminster Harriers in the 2-2 draw back in February. The Blues can also confirm that Alabi will wear the number 9 shirt next season – taking it over from Ross Hannah – who joined Barrow AFC last week after scoring 26 goals for Chester last season. Alabi was delighted, and said: “I’m happy to get the deal sorted early on – so it’s a good day for me. “As a striker, you always want the number 9 shirt so it’s given me even more motivation to push on. I hope to do as much as Ross Hannah did with the shirt. “I spoke to Kane Richards before signing and I’m delighted we can team up again next season and push on from where we left off at the back end of the season.” Source: www.footballconference.co.uk Source
