Bishop’s Stortford have announced they have parted company with joint manager Mark Hawkes and first-team coach Cliff Akurang with immediate effect.

The Board of Directors have placed on record their thanks to both and have wished them good luck for the future.

The club have announced that Kevin Watson comes in as manager until the end of the season.

Watson has a wealth of knowledge of the professional game, having been a player at Tottenham Hotspur, Swindon Town, Rotherham, Reading, Colchester United and Luton Town, with managerial experience at Maldon & Tiptree, assistant-manager to Teddy Sheringham at Stevenage, assistant to Ronnie Moore at Eastleigh and most recently assistant-manager at Blues` league rivals Whitehawk.
