Title ,to come and what's gone - The 4 challengers

Recommended Posts

I decided to grid up the results of the 4 main championship challengers to see who they have played where they are in the table and respective results. They actually make interesting reading.

I did try and post the grid on here but it doesn't like the lines and the results go all over the place.

Aldershot

Have only played 1 of the Top 10 away from home, that was St.Albans, which they lost.

Have played everyone in the Top 10 at home bar 2, St.Albans and Hendon, have only dropped points to Basingstoke and Billericay

Only have 6 games left all season against teams in the bottom half

Canvey Island

Have played 6 teams in the top half of the table away (out of 12) have lost every one.

Have played 7 teams in the top half at home as well, have only won 2 (Basingstoke & Maidenhead) all the other drawn

St. Albans City

Have played half of the Top half at home - only lost to Maidenhead, have beaten the Top 2 but rest drawn.

Have also played half of Top half away -winning 2 losing 4. Haven't played any of the Top 5 yet.

Out of the 4 chasers the only team to of played a fair spread of teams in the top, middle or bottom home and away.

Hendon

Have only beaten 1 of the Top half at home (Hayes) Yet to play any of the Top 7 at home

Only 3 games away aginst the Top half to play (St.Albans, Aldershot and Kingstonian) - Only won 3 of these away games so far.

Only lost to 1 team in the bottom half home or away.

That's about it - draw your own conculsions.

Nice piece of work but I think like all tight football situations over time it will go to the team that can put together the run-in

Having watched CIFC most games this season the form book has been missing most of the year

Canvey are now putting together a great run and Shots are putting together a whole crowd of one nils (1--0)wins

Its bottle time folks
