FF News
Forest Green Rovers have signed Stuart Fleetwood on a loan deal until the end of the season from Conference rivals Eastleigh. The Gloucester-born striker, who scored an incredible thirty-six goals for the club during the 2007-08 season, returns to The New Lawn in a move which helps bolster Rovers' attacking ranks. Fleetwood has featured heavily for Eastleigh this season after helping The Spitfires earn promotion as Conference South champions last year. However he will now see out the rest of the campaign in Nailsworth, and becomes manager Ady Pennock's first signing since the transfer window reopened on Saturday. His goal scoring heroics in his first spell at the club, under the management of Jim Harvey, earned him a move to Championship side Charlton Athletic. Loan spells at Cheltenham Town, Brighton & Hove Albion and Exeter City followed ahead of a permanent move to Hereford United where he worked alongside current assistant manager Dave Kevan. After a two-season spell at Luton Town he moved to Eastleigh in the summer of 2013. He previously started his career at Cardiff City and had two other spells at Hereford United and Accrington Stanley before his memorable campaign at The New Lawn.
