FF News
Vanarama Conference club Grimsby Town have completed the signing of striker Christian Jolley and defender Gregor Robertson on deals until the end of the season. Jolley (pictured), 26, started out at Kingstonian where he became an immediate hit, helping the Surrey-based side get to the play-offs and narrowly missed out on promotion. After impressing at Kingstonian, Jolley was signed by AFC Wimbledon in May 2010. He scored on his debut against Southport and was part of the squad which was promoted to the Football League. In 2012, Jolley joined Conference side Newport County on loan, making a scoring debut against Hyde. After his prolific form, consisting of 5 league goals in only four league games, Jolley was recalled by AFC Wimbledon. However, the frontman later returned to Newport County on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee. His prolific form in front of goal continued and his goals helped County get promoted to the Football League via the play-offs – scoring one of the goals in the semi-finals to sink the Mariners' promotion hopes. Meanwhile, former Scottish under-21 international defender Gregor Robertson has also joined the Mariners on a deal until the end of the season. Robertson, 31, started out with Hearts before moving south of the border to spent three years with Nottingham Forest, making thirty-six League appearances. Spells with Rotherham, Chesterfield and Crewe Alexandra followed before he signed for Northampton Town just over a year ago. He totalled more than 250 League games in total and played a dozen times for the Scottish under-21 side.Source: http://www.footballconference.co.uk/ Source
