Tamworth Urge Fans To Turn Up In Force

TAMWORTH FC face a massive six-pointer against league leaders Barrow at the top of the Conference North on Saturday – and the Lambs want people in the town to turn out in force and inspire a crucial victory.

And, in an attempt to push their attendance over 1,000, Tamworth will again offer an incentive of 'kids for a quid' for the fixture, which kicks off at 3pm at The Lamb.

In addition, 16 and 17-year-olds will be able to watch the clash for just £2.

"This is a massive game for us," said chairman Bob Andrews.

"Barrow are top of the league and it's a real test for us so we want to get as many people behind us as possible.

"It would be fantastic to get a big crowd to roar us on this weekend."

Vice chairman Steve Lathbury added: "We had a crowd of 960 plus against Stalybridge Celtic and, for the next home game, we are hoping to get more than 1,000.

"So hopefully the people of Tamworth will continue to come out and give us their support.

"We want people to get their colours on, wear their shirts – old and new – with pride and come along and support us this weekend."

The Lambs have enjoyed an incredible upturn in form since mid-November and have seen their stock rise.

A winning streak of 12-games catapulted the Lambs up to third in the Conference North and put them into the national media spotlight.

Andy Morrell's side were finally beaten on Saturday, losing 1-0 at Oxford City but Saturday offers the chance to kick-start another run.

Fans are requested to bring the right monetary change to the turnstiles, if possible, on Saturday.
