FF News
Big Win For second-placed AFC Fylde in the Vanarama Conference North on Tuesday night. Gavin Rothery gave the home side a 34th minute lead at Nethermoor in front of a crowd of just under 500. An own goal by Danny Rowe 10 minutes into the second half gave the Coasters a mountain to climb and then Adam Boyes sealed victory 9 minutes later, with Rowe scoring at the right end with a consolation goal 9 minutes from the end. Although the gap between the two teams is still a massive ten points, the Lions have certainly done leaders Barrow AFC a massive favour by beating the Coasters. Tuesday's other game saw Chorley return to the play-off places and at the same time dump hosts Stalybridge Celtic back down into relegation trouble with a 1-0 Bower Fold victory. A James Dean penalty was all that separated to the two sides on the night, but the Magpies dominated the game and should have won by a far bigger margin. The penalty came right on the stroke of half-time when Josh Hine was brought down by Stefan Galinski in the box and the reliable Dean duly converted past Lewis King in the Celtic goal. The win moves Chorley back into fifth place, leap-frogging both Boston United and Hednesford Town. footballconference.co.uk Source
