FF News
Sutton United have announced that they are throwing open the gates at Gander Green Lane on Saturday 7 March for the visit of Hayes & Yeading United, with spectators being admitted to the game free with the option of making a voluntary contribution once they are inside the ground. The club ran a similar and hugely successful day last season when Basingstoke were the visitors, with an attendance of over 2,000 watching U's 4-0 win, and as on that occasion the club will be helped by popular comedian Tim Vine, who will be at the club throughout the afternoon and is hoping to play an active part in the entertainment. The club's chosen charity for the last two years, St Raphael's Hospice in North Cheam, will also be present and after the game Tim Vine will be challenging supporters to darts matches, with proceeds raised from that going to the hospice. Chairman Bruce Elliott said: "It was a superb day when we played Basingstoke last season and we hope for something similar next Saturday. Tim Vine has become a good friend of the club, and we are very grateful that he has agreed to give up his time again to help us and St Raphael's" Source: www.suttonunited.net Source
