Leek Town manager Lee Casswell has called Anthony Danylyk the best player he's ever signed after the attacking midfielder made his 350th appearance for the vo-Stik Northern Premier League's Blues.

Danylyk reached the appearances milestone when he turned out against Warrington Town in the quarter-finals of the Doodson Sports Cup at Harrison Park last week.

Speaking ahead of Tuesday night's 1-0 win at Coalville Town, Casswell said: "Ant is the best player I’ve signed. He’s a delight to manage, he’s the life and soul of the dressing room and when he goes out onto the pitch you know exactly what you’re going to get."

The 32-year-old, who is now in his fourth spell at the First Division South club, originally joined in August 2002 from Stone Dominoes and spent five of the next six seasons at Harrison Park.

In between, he completed a season at Belper Town and a brief stint at Witton Albion before returning to the club in December 2011 after spending three and a half years with Conference outfit Altrincham.

Danylyk has twice been voted by Blues fans and players as their player of the season, winning his second accolade from his teammates only last season.
