FF News
Spalding AFC have confirmed that the club have secured their FA Grade D Certificate The installation of a new covered grandstand behind the goal at the Kings Road end of the ground was among many other minor upgrades carried out by volunteers, which ultimately saw the Tulips successful in achieving The FA's Grade D Ground Grading Certificate. This elevated status means the club can, if successful, compete at Step 3 of the non-league footballing pyramid and the Tulips are well-placed to secure an end-of-season Play-Off berth (at present they lie in fourth position in the Evo-Stik NPL First Division South). The new covered grandstand at the Kings Road end of the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field was the brainchild of Youth Section Charirman, Pete Semmence, who forged ahead with the design & construction of the new steel stand after other avenues were explored & dismissed as they were proving extremely expensive. Huge credit & appreciation goes to Pete and the team at his family-run company of engineers where he plies his trade.
