FF News
Darlington manager Martin Gray said that there were a lot of positives to take out of Saturday’s defeat at Buxton. Quakers lost to a goal in each half at Silverlands – the first time they have lost on opening day for six years – but the former Sunderland player was pretty upbeat afterwards. “There were lots of positives that we can be happy with. Their keeper was busy all the game, but if you’re better in both boxes then you can come away with something. “It was one of those games in which you have to take your chances. “Buxton had two setpieces which they punished us from, but I felt over the 90 minutes we created enough chances to come away with something. I was also very pleased with the performances of several players. “It’s a learning curve, and we have to learn quickly. We can’t afford to give teams an opportunity to have free headers in the box, so we’ll have to be stronger and better at the back.” Captain Kev Burgess said; “I think we must have had about 20 shots on goal in the game, and didn’t score any at all, while Buxton had four shots and scored twice.” Source: www.darlingtonfootballclub.co.uk Source
