Burnham FC have announced that Dave Tuttle will take over from Paul Mulvaney as first team manager.

Tuttle has had an illustrious playing career and started at Tottenham Hotspur before having spells at Sheffield United, Crystal Palace and Millwall, a club he went on to manage.

Chairman Gary Reeves has called the appointment an exciting step forward for the Blues.

"I speak on behalf of the board when I say that Dave's appointment as first team manager is not only a positive stride forward for the club but also a very exciting one," he said.

"Dave comes from a solid football background, a large part of which has been spent playing and managing in both professional and non-league football.

"He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that will only benefit Burnham FC and he is relishing the challenge ahead.

"We at Burnham are very excited by this appointment and Dave fully understands what we are trying to achieve and where we want to go and to try and drive us back up the South West Division after what has been a disappointing campaign so far.

Tuttle becomes the Blues third manager already this season and their sixth in two seasons.

He replaces Mulvaney who was in caretaker charge of first team affairs following Mark Tallentire's decision to stand down because of a mid-season cut to the playing budget.

Mulvaney enjoyed a degree of success in his first few fixtures, guiding the Blues to a win at Marlow and encouraging away draws at Taunton Town and Tiverton Town, but a run of 11 defeats in 13 matches has led to Tuttle's arrival at The Gore.

Mulvaney will remain at the club as a first team coach.

Tuttle will announce his backroom staff in due course.
