FF News
Visitors to Irlam on match days will now be able to see the results of the latest development at the ground. Following on from the new club house which opened in the summer, the latest improvement at Silver Street is a new, modern perimeter fence constructed at the bottom end of the ground. Club Secretary Warren Dodd explained: "The area at the rear of the ground is very soft when the weather worsens, and the large concrete panel fence across the rear eventually collapsed due to its sheer weight in soft conditions. “We have young children playing football in this part of the ground, and it was important that we replaced the fencing with the best possible option. “We now have a lightweight steel fence with strengthened wood inserted into the design, to give a natural look to area, and are absolutely delighted with the result. “I would like to acknowledge the support of Booth Charities for their support of this project. They are a charity whose aim is to benefit residents of the City of Salford, which is the area in which they operate”.
