Alsager boss Dundas seeking consistency

Alsager Town manager Scott Dundas is looking for his side to take confidence from their cup form as they move into the second half of the season.

Scott took over as manager of the Bullets in October, and since then, they have played and lost two league games, and remain rooted to the bottom of the Premier Division table. However, they have enjoyed a run of form in the FA Vase.

“In the games I have been in charge, we have had four cup games and disappointing league games which really etherized the task in hand”, he said.

“But with the momentum we have gained in the cup competitions, it can only help us to hopefully turn those types of performances into league games.

“I keep telling the players we need points on the board. It is a strange situation because normally a good cup run coincides with good league form, but I’m sure a couple of league wins are only around the corner.

“The lads have started to listen and hopefully adapt to how I want them to play. We will all work hard to get back the points deficit. They just need to start believing in themselves”.

The Bullets take another break from league action this coming Saturday when they face AFC Wulfrunians in the Third Round of the FA Vase, and Scott is hoping for another big cup display from his side, which in turn will boost confidence for the league challenge ahead.

“We are looking forward to the game on Saturday. I don’t know what it is about the cup games compared with the league games this season, but we seem to have a different mentality in the cup games.

“We have watched AFC Wulfrunians, who are a very good team and we will have to be at our best to beat them.

“The positivity around the club and the players over the last two weeks has given us the belief that we can get out of trouble. We have some good players at the club and once they all start working hard for each other, I’m sure fortunes will change”.
