FF News Posted December 12, 2015 Share Posted December 12, 2015 Altrincham have announced that Sam Heathcote has signed an eighteen-month contract with the club following his step-up from the reserve side this season. Manager Lee Sinnott and assistant boss Neil Tolson extremely pleased with the progress that Heathcote has made and were keen to tie up his services for this season and next. The 18-year-old was a junior striker at Manchester United and, following his release, he graduated through Altrincham's youth team and reserves to sign Conference forms in March 2015. Converted to a centre-back in the Alty youth team, he is the son of former Alty player and manager Graham Heathcote. So far this season, he has started five first-team games and been a used-substitute on seven occasions. He made a remarkable debut for the first-team, coming on as an injury-time substitute against Cheltenham Town on September 5th 2015. Within some 90 seconds he had scored the winning goal!
