Ian Lovegrove has been named assistant manager at Didcot Town following the departure of Andy Sinnott.

Lovegrove will assist new boss Andy Ballard for the first time tonight as the Railwaymen welcome Swindon Supermarine in Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West.

And Ballard, a former teammate of Lovegrove’s at Slough Town, believes his experience will prove invaluable following a recent stint as assistant to Daniel Barry at Wantage Town.

Ballard said: “Ian has a lot of connections locally and he knows a lot of younger players in the area.

“Having him on board is going to be a big help.”
