Magpies supporters take part in charity walk

Chorley's Vanarama National League North final fixture during the festive period was the relatively short and quick journey to AFC Fylde.

The first meeting this season between these two teams was due to take place seven days earlier at Victory Park but that unfortunately got postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Luckily for two Magpie supporters this game went ahead without any problems as their journey started earlier than normal as they made their way to Kellamergh Park on foot.

The two walkers, both board members of Chorley FC Supporters Trust, set off on their 20 mile walk from Victory Park in Chorley just after 6:30 am and arrived at AFC Fylde's Kellamergh Park just after 1:45pm after being passed by numerous travelling supporters on route.

The idea of the walk was actually suggested by the Trusts Vice-Chairman Julian after he and the Trust Treasurer John-Paul had just completed a much shorter sponsored walk to Bamber Bridge in aid of Chorley Mencap.

Money raised from the walk will be split equally between Derian House Children's Hospice and Chorley FC Supporters Trust's Fan Ownership Fund. The pair completed the walk wearing the pink shirts that Chorley played their Lancashire FA Trophy Final game in last season to raise awareness of the Twincess Charity.

Donations are still open for another 13 days so if you would like to show your support towards both Derian House and CFCST then please visit www.localgiving.co.uk/vp2kp - You will also be able to read more on the charities they have chosen.
