Fixture Lists

Recommended Posts

I know the ESL is well-known for being slow with the fixture list, but this is ridiculous. Most other leagues have already digested their lists, knowing who is playing who and when/where. Getting the Enfield Town fixtures so late kinda takes all the fun out of the build up out of the season. It's like 'here are your fixtures. You have a week to prepare for them'. Come on ESL. Get a move on!

That's rich, seeing as it's your club that's the biggest problem in that respect! The first place you should be complaining to is the South Midlands League, because until they've done their fixtures, and therefore Brimsdown Rovers' home fixtures, the Essex Senior League don't know when their pitch is available for your home fixtures. The knock-on effect is obvious, particularly when the SML only do theirs a month at a time as well.

For your information, the ESL were in consultation with the SML to see whether some agreement could be reached which would enable the ESL to publish a full season's fixtures. No news as to the outcome has been forthcoming as far as I am aware.

It's even worse for reserve teams in the Essex & Herts Border Combination as they can't even sort their fixtures out until the ESL have theirs. It's not unknown for the clubs to get their fixture list for the month a week after they played their first match.

Three weeks to our first ESL game now... I suppose we could arrange a friendly with Romford on the 17th if we have no game to go to? The ESL Cup fixtures should also be available soon. Maybe ETFC could play their away group games first so that these fixtures can be issued. This suspense is too much now lol.

We'd go for that.

Actually I'd go for Enfield Town at home on the opening day of the competitive season, as we've a 100% record when we're at home on opening day. Two wins out of two.

Away on the opening day, we've played seven, won none, drawn four, last three. Brown paper bags are already on their way to Len Llewellyn's home address.
