Promotion Places

Cos Ryman 1 and 2 plus about six of the top of Ryman 3 at the end of last season combined to make Ryman One - North and South - and the balance of Ryman 3 became Ryman 2 into which Leyton went.

Comprendez?

I understood that 2 each come down from Ryman Divisions 1 North and South. Ryman 2 are guaranteed 2 promoted clubs, subject to ground. Then the ESL, SSL and Combined Counties supply 2 clubs between them.

For arguments sake, if the season ended now, AFC Wallingford, Enfield Town and Potters Bar would be eligible, though AFC and PB have won their leagues before and not gone up so there may be issues regarding their grounds. I would assume AFC Wimbledon would definitely go up if they are in contention.

Yeah, of course, I forgot that Brimsdown is a Grade A ground.

Don't count your chickens Mr Happy there's a lot of season left yet.

Up the Boro!

I have every faith in our management committee to ensure that, working with Brimsdown Sprts and Social Club, Brimsdown Road will be up to standard. I also have every faith in JC, the coaching staff and players that we will win the league.

COME ON YOU ETs!!!!!!!!!!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/director.gif" alt="" />

Burnham, or was it the NLP got it slightly wrong - if the top club in the ESL does not wish to be promoted then the second placed club has a chance BUT NOT TWO TOGETHER. Two clubs from the three main feeders can go up but this year it will be to the Ryman Div 1 North and for that undoubted pleasure one needs a Grade "B" ground under the Ryman ruling. A birdy tells me that the FA have now started ground grading meetings in various parts of the country to bring all Level three grounds into line with each other. Once upon a time it was the top three that were considered - EAST THURROCK UTD were third and promoted to the old div 3 - I wonder if the future will find us with a similar scenario.

Whatever the case - Grade B is a lot of work and the "jump" is quite considerable, so lets hope there is always a home for the majority in the ESL.

Ilford Fc or for that matter, any club with aspirations and a Ryman Grade B facility would go "in the hat" with the Spartan South Midlands and Combined Counties for a place in the Ryman Div 1 (North or South)

as long as they either WIN the ESL or are runners-Up (If the winner declines). But what happens for 2004/2005 after the FA have finished sorting everyone out and the Pool system operates at Level 3 - goodness only knows !!!!!

Its a thought you know, all these clubs with their Grade B grounds cascading back to the ESL - surely this will enhance standards and do everyone a power of good - it doesn't mean that present clubs can sit on their laurels though, a past thread on this subject suggested that all ESL clubs get at least a 50 seater stand and perimeter fencing in-fill. This concept seems sensible to me and will probably be taken up if, as it is suggested, the F A are now getting involved in ground-grading to a common criteria at Level 3.

Wrong again.

It doesn't matter who wins the ESL, if you put up the money to say you want to go up and the Ryman's say your ground is OK then you can go up. Great Wakering Rovers went up in 1997/98 and they finished 3rd that season...
