There are so many special things that can be said about the performance by our players in yesterdays game but for me one word would round them all up 'Superb'; they can all walk away from the Burnley game with their heads held high and with utmost respect from every Canvey supporter.
Very well done to the whole team at Canvey FC!

Have to agree totally with Vic. For me, the best part of the afternoon was when the Burnley fans stood to applaud our lads off the field at the end of the game. I think we won a lot of friends and earned a lot of respect from this one.
Also, 'superb' is the only word that can describe the chanting and singing from the Yellow Army. I was at the back of the the main stand to your left and from the off I could hear your cheering echoing around Turf Moor. Bearing in mind that you were outnumbered by 20:1 I thought you did us Islanders proud. Apart from cheering for a goal, these northerners don't really get behind their teams do they (Ref: Wigan a few weeks ago).
Merv CIFC

I am now starting to sound like a parrot on this but once again the performance was SUPERB.
The singing from start to finish was absolutely brilliant and I thouroghly enjoyed my day out, The only down side was having to wait around for a Police escort to the ground.
I also must say it was a very nice touch that the Burnley fans did give our players a thoroughly deserved standing ovation.
Come on lets see some more supporters at our games from now on !! Also lets get behind the team a lot more (That includes me as I am quite at home games as well)
Maybe we should all get in 1 section of the ground at home and sing our hearts out.
Come on lads lets now go out and give Gravesend a pasting on tuesday and get a nice healthy lead at the top of the league.

happy new year everyone..!!
just wanted to say well done to the players of Canvey who all played with the heart of a Lion to get to the 3rd round. What a great journey and the this little corner of Essex is well and truly on the map now! thks to the people who organised transport to Burnley and Wigan.Alot of people have been questioning the police escort and the jobsworth stewards at the ground but I was more annoyed at the fact we had to spend the pre-match drinking ceromony at a poky little 'serving hatch' next to the toilets which were humming!! still we managed to get our way through enough Carling lager to last until Canvey set out on the road to glory again next season in what really is the greatest cup comp on the planet. Jeff, the boys and backroom staff step forward and take a bow.. you done us proud. scoot

I don't think you'll find it was the toilets that were humming. That smell seemed to make a number of guest appearences on the coach on the way home!

Shoulder's, I heard that the coach was last seen heading off to the 'Rentokil' depot as the driver thought we had a dead rat on board!!
