Collins resigns as Boston Town manager

Nathan Collins has resigned as Boston Town boss.

Jason Callaby takes over as joint manager with highly-respected former Louth Town and Grimsby Borough boss Paul Walden.

It's understood the players were told that behind-the-scenes issues were the reason for Boston Town logothe resignation - but a spokesman said club officials were baffled to hear this.

The Poachers have endured a woeful start to the season. They've been knocked out of the FA Cup and have lost all four league games so far, leaving them rooted at the foot of the United Counties League table.

Former player Callaby successfully stepped into the breach last season to replace Mark Angel.

Walden has an impressive recent record in management, steering Louth Town to a top six finish in the Northern Counties East League and the Lincs Senior Trophy final. And last season he took over Grimsby Borough when they were bottom of the league and guided them to safety with an unbeaten run of eight games.

Their first game in charge will be Saturday's league visit to Wellingborough. Next Wednesday (31 August) sees Boston at home to Harrowby in the league cup, KO 7.45pm
