Hartlepool United staff and players gathered at Maiden Castle on Thursday to pay their respects to former Pools star Michael Maidens.

Craig Harrison led his squad in a tribute to Michael, who tragically passed away in a car accident ten years ago yesterday at the age of just 20.

They gathered at Maiden Castle, and laid flowers on the memorial bench which was placed there by Michael's team-mates after his passing back in October 2007.

The club retired Michael's Number 25 shirt in his honour at the time and every year since supporters have paid their own tribute by clapping and singing his name in the 25th-minute of the game closest to the anniversary.
